Christmas Day Jolly Tablescape

I love to set a festive table! I usually like to set it the night before. This year I wanted to go very jolly. I am so beyond happy that my dad is here this Christmas! We almost lost him this year. The joy I feel over it is bursting onto my table. I gave him the Santa place card. He’s earned the honored title.

Layering a table setting adds dimension as well as function. The bottom layer is a Christmas tree placemat. It’s followed by a shiplap charger. Then come the dishes: dinner, salad, and dessert. To the one side is a bread dish. It holds a mitten that has the silverware. On top of that is the place card. Tucked in the mitten is a little snowflake pick to add to the theme. The glass has a snowflake pattern and has an extra small spoon also with a snowflake on it.

The centerpiece is low to allow for conversation. Mickey and Minnie are building a snowmouse with Pluto. Flanking it are candles for mood lighting. The runner is hand knit and looks like a warm sweater. It has a sprinkling of glass snowflakes on it.
