Fall is a wonderful time to have a sit down dinner. Setting a beautiful table is a way to make it special. I created two different tablescapes for the season.<\/p>\n

The top row (from left to right) photos are my Thanksgiving table and it’s place setting. The next row (from left to right) shows photos from my fall table and it’s place setting<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving & Fall Tablescapes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I really love creating a festive or themed tablescape. While I often follow the basic guidelines, I haven’t been formally trained. I tend to color outside the lines, so if you’re looking for a more traditional approach, you may not find it here.<\/p>\n

Tablescapes commonly include linens, chargers, dishes, glasses, silverware and lighting. Other accessories may include napkin rings and place cards. For special occasions, adding favors are a nice touch.<\/p>\n

MY FALL TABLESCAPE:<\/h3>\n

I used two runners for this table. One a blue and white floral and the other a cream leaf print. I layered the leaf runner on top of the floral. My centerpiece is something I arranged using pumpkins and pinecones (JoAnns) places in a tin container (The Dollar Store) on a white rectangular dish (Crate & Barrel.) I tucked a string of LED lights into the arrangement for extra sparkle.<\/p>\n

For the lighting, I added glass candles filled with blue oil. I placed them on either side of the arrangement. These coupled with the LED lights are great for soft lighting for evening dining.<\/p>\n

For this placesetting, I layered these elements (starting from the bottom and working to the top):<\/h4>\n

  1. Blue woven placemat (Bed, Bath & Beyond)<\/li>\n
  2. Shiplap wooden charger in a cream finish (Details2Enjoy)<\/li>\n
  3. Dinner Plate in cream with a gold rim (Crate and Barrel)<\/li>\n
  4. Paper leaf cutout ( Michaels)<\/li>\n
  5. Salad plate in tan (Crate & Barrel)<\/li>\n
  6. Silverware (Pottery Barn) resting on the edges of the top plate with the napkin (Pottery Barn) folded like an envelope. The napkin has a chocolate pumpkin (Trader Joe’s) sitting on a wood slice<\/li>\n

    MY THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE:<\/h3>\n

    I again used two runners. The first one was the same floral one as before. The second one was cream colored and had blue pumpkins and the word, ” thankful” at each end. My centerpiece had a wooden slatted container that I filled with velvet pumpkins, pinecones and greenery (JoAnns.) it sits on an oval ceramic dish with pilgrims arranged around. For lighting, I used the same glass oil candles as before,<\/p>\n

    The placesetting has a similar layering from top to bottom as the last table with a turkey salad dish, placeholder and napkin ring (all Pottery Barn.)<\/p>\n
