This recipe is a great fall dessert. Here are the step by step directions…
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
- Mulled Apple Cider (I used Trader Joe’s)
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Salted Caramel Sauce (Trader Joe’s)
- Cinnamon/Sugar mixed together ( enough to dip however many floats you make)
- Spiced Pecans (Trader Joe’s) chopped up…enough to place on top of floats
- Whipped Cream
- Cinnamon Sticks ( for a garnish…one for each float)
- Apple slices …one per float…to prevent browning of apple piece, dip in lemon juice
- You will also need glasses and straws
STEPS:
- Put salted caramel sauce on a platePut cinnamon/sugar combo on plate
- Dip rim of glass in salted caramel sauce first, then in cinnamon/sugar mixture
- Fill glass with apple cider, beginning with a little less then half the glass.
- Add Ice cream (this is your preference how much and how thick you want the float to be)
- Add toppings: First whipped cream then drizzle caramel, finally add spiced pecans and slice of apple. To put the apple slice on glass, cut a thin slit from the edge inward (about an inch long) where you want to place it ( TIP: start with thinner slit, just enough to fit over glass side…if you need to cut a bigger one you can, but if you cut it too big, it’s harder for it to stay on.) Add cinnamon stick and straw. OPTIONAL: I served with vanilla wafer cookies.
Enjoy!
