Lindy’s Disney Fairy Gardens

Cinderella Fairy Garden

Since I was a little girl I’ve loved miniatures. I used to have a tiny set of cartoon characters I played with endlessly. That love has never disappeared and I have little miniature sets sprinkled throughout my home.

I’ve been wanting to do a Disney themed fairy garden for a bit now. This last week, I tackled this with a some help from my niece and pixie dust :). I have collected Disney Store play sets for a while and this was a fun way to showcase a few.

I started with Cinderella… one of my favorite princesses. The container is a plastic urn I had on hand. Some items I got at The Dollar Store: the moss mounds, the butterfly grasses, the garden sign and blue glass for pond. Some items I got at craft stores. Hobby Lobby had the arbor and bridge ( I used coupons or waited for sales.) The glass pumpkins I had already. The little pebbles I got at Home Depot.

It was a simple project to put together. The urn, my hubby filled with dirt. I added a border of pebbles around the perimeter of the urn. I made a winding pathway and a place for the pond. Then it was just about being creative and arranging a scene. Arranging things is another one of my favorite things to do!

Alice At The Mad Tea Party
Alice started in a cute tea cup planter I already had. I got it years ago from
The Disney Store. We filled it with dirt and it was ready to set up.

The teacup didn’t have as much room to work in, but I loved that. It made it perfect for a cozy tea setting. Some butterfly grass, flowers, and grass mounds from The Dollar Store give the backdrop. The over sized mushroom is the perfect tea table, my niece, Courtney spotted it at Jo-Ann Fabrics Store.

The last fairy garden I did features Tinkerbell. It seemed fitting to do one with the queen of all Disney fairies!

Tink’s Pixie Hollow

I used another urn for the container. In each fairy garden I did a ring of pebbles on perimeter of soil for a design element. This one features similar floral items and blue glass beads for pond ( again from The Dollar Store) with a bird bath ( from Jo-Ann Fabrics ) & bird cage (from Hobby Lobby).  I bordered the pond with a trail of pebbles.

Tink’s Garden

We spruced up the rest of our front yard with some new flowers and a few
of our spring Disney themed statues. The Tink statue is from K-Mart. The Mickey and Minnie ones, below, are from a store called Homebase that is no longer in business. Mickey and Minnie have nets to catch butterflies.

I loved how our spring Disney themed yard turned out. I adore the new
Disney fairy gardens. The photos don’t do them justice. They bring a
touch of whimsy and dare I say magic to our place! Take time to create some fairy gardens and add your own magic. The sky’s the limit on themes you could do.  I hope to do some based on my favorite books in the future.  Have fun creating your own for fairies to play!

Disneyland Rose (this rose is named after Disneyland and was a must have for my garden. It lives in the backyard and offers a sneak peek into a future post featuring our backyard.)
