My Haunted House

My Halloween themed coffee bar … haunted house from Target … galvanized drawers from Pottery Barn … “coffee, scream and sugar” mug from Home Goods.

It’s been a crazy time personally. I would have normally posted more often sharing these Halloween themed things, but I decided to put them all in one blog and give you a tour of my haunted home.

I love doing seasonal themes …. Halloween is a fun one… this year I went all out and am excited to share some of my spooky decor and celebrations. The coffee bar above is themed to “A Nightmare Before Christmas ” …with my letterboard from Felt Good Vibes having the quote “The Nightmare Before Coffee.”

Nightmare Banner by the wonderful A Peace of Creativity as well as the potion bottles and pumpkin ….the “nightmare” and “coffee” letter fonts are from Words With Means …. both wonderful Etsy shops. The heather letterboard is from Felt Good Vibes.

My fall Cinderella themed mantle… silhouettes from Disneyland … blue castle, banner and pumpkin from A Peace of Creativity; Cinderella dress from a company called Believe Dream Imagine… the silver castle and crown from the Etsy shop, Honey Comb Heights … the wreath is from JoAnns.

I like doing layers and layers of detail…the letterboard begins the Cinderella theme…which felt perfect for this season with her pumpkin coach. Pumpkins in the color palette of blues, grays, and soft oranges mix with little fairy lights and glass amber rocks. The silhouettes of the prince and princess are under the initials of my husband and I.

Cinderella theme continued to the coffee table.

The Cinderella coach I got a couple years ago from Hobby Lobby …. it was originally gold and I spray painted it silver. I decorated it with vines and little pumpkins plus more fairy lights. The Thomas Kincade Cinderella Painting makes a nice back drop.

My Halloween bar features my favorite mouse. Letterboard from the company, Felt Good Vibes … the Spooky Mickey letterboard icons are from Believe Dream Imagine … “Trick or Treat Yourself” sign from Home Goods … Halloween Mickeys are from Disneyland. The smaller one with a handle has a special memory. My mother-in-law and I got there with dessert at the happiest place on earth.

Setting up a themed bar for the seasons brings me joy. The inspiration for this began with the sign.

Peanut Halloween M & M s are sorted by color and in martini glasses.

Whoopie, it’s October…pumpkin shaped whoopie pies…. the recipe and pumpkin pan came from Crate & Barrel … the vintage Halloween bow is from the wonderful Etsy shop, All About Bows. Mini chippy felt board is from Felt Creative Home… the pom garland is from the Etsy shop, Peaberry Studio.

I love to do a few festive treats and foods during the season …these pumpkin shaped Whoopie pies fill the bill…chocolate cake…marshmallow filling. I colored the filling orange and added sprinkles to the side.

This trick or treat tiered tray is full of treats all the cookies are from Trader Joe’s … the adorable Mickey and friends trick or treaters are from Hallmark … the lit up haunted house is from Target … the buffalo check pumpkins are from Sprinkled Donut Studio ( Etsy shop) …the Halloween bow from All About Bows ( Etsy shop) … the polka dot plates are from Party City … galvanized tiered tray from Pottery Barn.

Some close ups of the elements …Mickey is Peter Pan, Minnie is Cinderella, Goofy is Pinocchio and Donald is Grumpy for trick or treat ( from Hallmark).

I also dabbled in a few Halloween centerpieces … the first is candy corn themed, literally in the colors of the candy … it was so fun to do.

I got these flowers in the perfect colors from Sam’s Club … the runner is from JoAnns (a few years ago) … chippy board letterboard is from Felt Creative Home.

The black cat, pumpkin ghost and Halloween garland ( which even has candy corns!), my mom painted from kits.

I did one more centerpiece for the season. I paired it with cupcakes that also had the same theme. The beautiful flowers also came from Sam’s Club…. I added spiders to give it a creepier effect and put some of the flowers in bud vases to add levels. The cupcakes came from a wonderful shop called The Cake Cottage. The sugar icons on cake are from Wilton.

The cute crochet pumpkin on top of the marshmallow cup is from Aleyza Love ( Etsy shop) the gingham pumpkin and ghosts are from Sprinkled Donut Studio ( Etsy shop)… the pom pom garland is from Peaberry Studio (Etsy shop)… little polka dot plates are from Party City

My family room entertainment center is ready for Halloween … Disney style!

In my Disneyland themed family room, it has become quite spooky. Villians have taken over … Cruella, Ursula, Hook and Maleficent are trying to take the castle, but Mickey will save the day! I have collected Disneyland castles for a very long time and they are featured here. The Mickey pumpkins and adorably spooky “Boo to you!” and Mickey ghost sign ( from the fabulous Farmmouse Signs, Etsy shop) bring just the right touch of Halloween. The incredible castle painting for its 50th is by Thomas Kincade Studios. Mickey Halloween pumpkin is from Jim Shore Official.

Close up of one section ( castle by Farmmouse Signs, Etsy shop) … Precious Moments Disney mouseketeers eating ice cream.

The Painted Mouse ( Etsy shop) made this wonderful castle ..miniature Halloween themed Donald, Mickey and a Hitchhiking ghost were bought at Disneyland.

My haunted home tour is almost complete. My last feature is my jack-o-lantern tablescape filled with ghoulish goodies. I did this for a game night. The Halloween themed foods make me happy. I even made the pigs in a blanket look like mummies.

My Halloween tablescape game night

I created this Jack-o-lantern out of dishes …a flat round one holds a 7 layer bean dip…taco meat, refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, cheese and olives …the eyes and nose hold the olives…the smile holds the blue tortilla chips …the stem holds green onions …all the white dishes are from Crate & Barrel

.

This is the table setting …I used an adorable See’s Candies Jack-o-lantern chocolate marshmallow candy for the favor. The white plates with the mini pumpkins are from Crate & Barrel…the shiplap place mat and tile place card are from a company called Details 2 Enjoy … the buffalo napkin is from Target.

These tarantula chocolate parfaits were made with layers of Cool Whip, chocolate pudding and brownies crumbled up. The web is made of chocolate syrup. The spider itself is made of brownie slices for the legs and a chocolate covered peanut for the body … the orange jack-o-lanterns are foiled chocolates from See’s Candies.

That finishes my Haunted House tour. I hope you have a fun Halloween!

Next up on the blog will be my sharing of my fall and Thanksgiving themes.

Til then my pumpkin puppy princess and I say Boo- Bye
